Journey is Back and Still Rocking Hard

The 1980s rock band Journey is literally enjoying a renaissance with new touring and dates across the U.S. The return to popularity of the band is a story in its own, as the lead singer is not the original of Journey, Steve Perry, but instead new singer, Arnel Pineda. Journey's current singer is backed up by original band members Neal Schon on lead guitar and Ross Valory on bass, as well as Dean Castronovo on drums and Jonathan Cain on keyboards and rhythm guitar.

Jeter: Now You See Him, Now You Don't

The crowd starts their applause as the Yankees take the field. When the modern-day Yankee icon Derek Jeter appears after a nine month absence, they go wild! Screams of delight can be heard over the screeching of subway trains, the commonplace too high decibel level of police sirens and the sounds of the big city.

Derek Jeter is the ultimate present-day Yankee. He is New York City's all-around good guy. The city loves him and he loves them. His return to the game has Yankee fans grinning from ear to ear. His first at bat in the game against the Kansas City Royals yielded a hit and Yankee fans expected nothing less of him. The game proceeds and the fans are happy, Jeter is happy and the rest of the team is happy - until he gets hit in his quad muscle and succumbs to yet another injury. Before the nine innings are even finished, he is again out of the game, through no fault of his own.

TomorrowWorld Music Festival Will Command Over 150,000 Attendees

TomorrowLand comes to the United States as TomorrowWorld

With a projected 150,000 guests and 300+ DJs, TomorrowWorld in Atlanta, Georgia is shaping up to be one of the largest 2013 events in not only the United States but the entire world. TomorrowWorld is being run by the same company as TomorrowLand, a famous global event that draws from 200,000 to 300,000 attendees from across the world every year. If TomorrowWorld goes well this year--and it's difficult to see how it couldn't--it will be an event that will be held annually on each continent. The event will be held from September 27th through 29th, but the tickets are expected to sell out well in advance.

It's National Anti-Boredom Month and We Have The Cure: 15% Off Tickets

July is Anti-Boredom Month, a time when we should make the most of our outdoor recreational opportunities. It's a happy time of parades, bands and splashing around - summer strolls and happy thoughts. In addition to parks, sailing and beaches we can also enjoy National Hot Dog Month, National Blueberry Month and National Ice Cream Month by having proper picnics in old fashioned style. Enjoy spreading a blanket and bringing a basket full of homemade or deli sandwiches and pies to the nearest park. Take a family photo and perhaps your great grandchildren will enjoy this traditional familial view 100 years from now.

Johnson Makes History at Daytona

Jimmie Johnson became the first driver in 31 years to win both the Daytona 500 and the July race in Daytona, the Coke Zero 400, within the same year.  The last NASCAR driver to perform this feat was Bobby Allison in 1982.  The win makes Johnson only the fifth driver in NASCAR history to be able to sweep both Daytona races in a single season.  Besides Johnson and Allison, the other drivers to accomplish this were Fireball Roberts, Cale Yarbough and LeeRoy Yarbough.
