San Francisco Giants
announced Monday that it will take all three Championship trophies – from 2010,
2012 and 2014 – on a two–month tour of California, with brief stops in Oregon,
Arizona and Nevada as well as one stop in the team's former home of New York
City. This will be the third time in five years for the Giants to tour their
World Series Championship trophies, starting at Raley Field in Sacramento on
Jan. 7.
“We saw in
2012 how powerful it was for us to create a trophy tour which not only allowed
us to connect with our fans but the more than 22,000 kids who participate in
our Junior Giants baseball program. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to do
so again just two years later,” said Larry Baer, Giants president and chief
operating officer.
The trophies
will be on display for two hours during each stop and fans will be allowed to
take one photo whether it’s an individual picture or a group one.
